Enjoying Better Restaurants

About Me

Enjoying Better Restaurants

When I started thinking more seriously about traveling full time for work, I knew that zeroing in on the best restaurants would probably make my experience a lot better. I started reading more and more restaurant reviews and checking out articles from restaurant critics talking about how to find great places to eat. It really made a big difference, to the point of me being able to gain a little weight on the road. Check out this blog to find out how to find great restaurants and enjoy better food. You never know, it could make your next date or business trip a lot better.

Ideas For Your Special Day: Themed Wedding & Reception

Themed weddings and receptions are increasing in popularity, yet some themes can teeter on the downright bizarre. In fact, an NFL player and his bride tied the knot in a Walking Dead themed wedding. If covering your guests with blood and having them try to feast on you and your sweetheart is not your ideal way to start out your wedded bliss, here are several ideas you may find more appealing.

Game of Thrones

Picture this—have a Game of Thrones themed wedding and set your eyes on a feast of magnificent proportions. If there are no medieval castles in your neck of the woods, you can create a throne-worthy venue in a clearing in the forest or transform a rental catering tent into a hall in a nearby field. The catering menu should be suitable for a king and queen's feast and include paleo-type (hunter-gatherer) foods, such as roasted chicken and root vegetables. Themed goblets, dinnerware, and silverware can be ordered through most party planner stores.

Alice in Wonderland

If whimsical elegance is more of your style, a wedding and reception based on Alice in Wonderland may be your cup of tea. Choose your favorite characters and ask your wedding party and catering service to dress the part. Ask your friends and family members if any of them have a white rabbit you can borrow to use as decoration and to provide some enjoyment to the younger guests. For the reception, you'll of course want to have a Mad Hatter's tea party and eclectic decorations throughout. Cover the tables with grass and mismatched teacups. Hire a caterer to serve tiny sandwiches and, of course, tea.

The Wild, Wild West

Another fun theme to consider is the Wild West, complete with horses and an authentic replica stagecoach. Hold the wedding venue in a rustic chapel and the reception in an old barn. Alternatively, an indoor riding arena at a nearby horse riding stable could work. The menu for a wild west themed reception should include BBQ and moonshine for the best in authenticity. This theme may be the easiest for your catering service to dress the part with flannel shirts, blue jeans, and cowboy boots. A hoe-down after the reception is a great way to round out the night of a wild west themed day.

Speak with a catering service, such as Pickleman's, for more ideas so you can come up with the perfect theme for your special day.
